Outline of Research at the Start

Since the 2nd year of the COVID-19 pandemic, an increased number of severe dengue fever (DF) cases have been recorded in many countries including Bangladesh. Whether prior COVID-19 interferes with developing severe DF is an unanswered question. With these realities, this study will assess the impacts of prior SARS-CoV-2 infection in the development of severe DF using large-scale clinical data obtained from DF patients in Bangladesh and subsequently performing laboratory experiments in Japan.
