Outline of Research at the Start

Mpoxウイルス感染は、アフリカ大陸では流行地の一般人感染が多い反面、2022年パンデミックではHIVとの共感染が多いMSMを中心に広がった。これらMpoxハイリスク集団における既感染者数の把握は、予防／感染拡大防止措置を講じるに当たって不可欠であるが、多くの未診断のMpox疑い患者が存在し、実際の感染状況は不明である。本研究では、粗ウイルス抗原を使用した高感度血清学的診断法の開発に成功したことから、確定診断されている患者数の水面下に、未診断者が存在し、感染伝播の中継となっているとの仮説の下、Mpox感染ハイリスク集団における未診断者が存在を明らかにすることを目的に実施する。
