Outline of Research at the Start

n-3系脂肪酸の抗炎症作用、抗動脈硬化作用、抗うつ作用などの健康効果については良く知られるが、各種脂肪酸と「認知機能」「口腔機能」「骨密度」「運動能力」など他の健康指標との関連については未知である。また、体内の脂肪酸バランスの臨床的意義を検証する際には、その組成に直接影響する「食事」に加えて、「腸内細菌」による代謝物の組成変化も同時に考慮することが重要である。本研究では、食事・腸内細菌－脂肪酸バランス－健康度をネットワークで解釈することにより、脂肪酸バランスの健康意義をより詳細に解明し、「脂肪の質」に着目したこれまでの健康指導を、より実際的かつ多角的な指導へと発展させることを目的とする。
