Outline of Research at the Start	法医実務における窒息事例の取り扱いは多く、様々な原因により窒息は生じるが、窒息死を積極的かつ客観的に証明する診断指標は、現在のところ法医実務に応用されていない。そこで本研究では、低酸素時に転写因子として機能する低酸素誘導性因子ならびに、その標的となる代表的な低酸素応答因子を低酸素関連因子として定め、これらの因子の転写あるいは翻訳レベルの変化が窒息死の診断指標と成り得る可能性について、培養細胞モデルおよび動物モデルを作成し検証するとともに、法医解剖事例のヒト試料での適応を検討する。
