Outline of Research at the Start	大脳皮質が損傷されると歩行が障害される。しかしその病態は未だ自明ではない。我々の研究から、歩行中のサル一次運動野が下肢の筋活動をステップ毎に制御することが示された。よって、一次運動野の歩行中の活動は大脳皮質で処理される複数の感覚情報に基づくという仮説を立てて、これを段階的に検証する。本課題では体性感覚に着目して、体性感覚野が歩行制御で担う役割を解明する。得られる成果は二足歩行機能の回復訓練法や維持・増強訓練法の開発を促すものと期待できる。
