Outline of Research at the Start

高齢者は通常の日常生活において常に最大機能を発揮した歩行をしていない。通常速度と最大速度で歩行した場合、その速度の差が「歩行予備能」であると考えられている。歩行速度だけでなく歩行予備能は高齢者の健康増進や介護予防に重要な目安になると考えられるが、その詳細は明らかとされていない。本研究は、これまでに歩行予備能が高齢者の加齢変化によって低下するのか、不健康状態を招く症状と関係するのか、歩行予備能はどのような機能で説明できるか、についてを明らかにするための研究として実施する。
