本研究では、身体的愁訴と筋骨格系障害の発生状況をアウトカムとした前向きコホート研究により、バレエダンサーにおける足関節・足部のオーバーユース障害発生リスクとなる要因を抽出する。説明変数には、対象となるダンサーの身体機能（筋機能、柔軟性、体組成など）と健康状態・生活習慣（睡眠習慣、全般的な健康状態など）に関するデータを収集する。収集したデータを横断的あるいは縦断的に分析し、足関節周辺オーバーユース障害発生の予測因子を明らかにする。本研究によりバレエダンサーのオーバーユース障害発生に関連する因子が明らかとなり、将来有望なバレエダンサーのシームレスな活動を支えるプログラムの基盤データが得られる。
