Outline of Research at the Start	Controlling uncontrollable という語に表されるように、ばらつきは、運動制御における最も重要な特性であり、スポーツパフォーマンスを評価する上でも極めて重要な指標である。本研究課題では、第一に、ばらつきを定量的に評価するための数理統計的な分析指針を確立し、ばらつきに基づくスポーツパフォーマンス評価手法を再構築する。その上で、野球投手の投球精確性を中心に、ばらつきに基づいた評価指標が、ゲーム中のパフォーマンスを予測し得るかを検証する。
