Outline of Research at the Start	加齢に伴って骨格筋（筋肉）の量や質が変化する。筋肉の量の低下は転倒や歩行困難を招き、筋肉のなかに脂肪などの組織が増えることによる筋肉の質の低下は糖尿病や心疾患に繋がることが示されている。したがって筋肉においては量と質の評価が同時にできることが望ましい。そこで本研究は国内外の医療機関等に普及している超音波診断装置に着目し、①機種や撮像時の設定によって異なる画像上の情報を正規化する方法を検討すること、②筋肉の質を考慮しつつ筋肉の量を評価する方法の妥当性を検討することを目的とする。これにより超音波診断装置を使った筋肉の量と質の簡便かつ新たな評価方法の作成に繋がると考えられる。
