Outline of Research at the Start

デューイの教育論については研究論文、邦訳書、関連書籍が継続的に発表されている。しかし、日本の体育学分野ではデューイの教育論が経験主義の立場へと矮小化して解釈されるという問題があった。その要因には、戦後期の体育の指導的立場にあった人物がデューイの教育論を正しく理解できていたのか、また戦後の体育関係者が学んだ当時のアメリカの体育関連テキストにおいてデューイの教育論が正しく理解されていたのか、これらの点を明らかにする研究が行われてこなかったという問題がある。本研究ではこれらの問題を解決するために、戦後日本の体育関連文献、ならびに当時の体育関係者が読解したアメリカのテキストを対象にした文献調査を行う。
