Outline of Research at the Start	飢餓時に見られる日内休眠（torpor：トーパー）は、著しい体温低下が数時間続く生理現象です。我々はこれまで、飢餓時に胃から分泌されるグレリンというホルモンが、トーパーの誘導と維持に不可欠であることを報告してきました。しかし、グレリン細胞が、細胞外から届く情報をどのように受け取ってグレリン分泌を促しているのかが不明なため、トーパーの人為的制御には至っていません。本研究では、グレリン細胞において細胞膜の構造やそこに発現する受容体タンパク質の機能を解析し、「グレリン細胞のセンシング機構」を解明します。
