Outline of Research at the Start

肝脂肪蓄積による慢性肝障害である非アルコール性脂肪肝炎（NASH）は、肝硬変や肝癌に進行する病態である。しかし、その薬物療法は未だ確立されていない。本研究では、高用量Zalt投与モデルを中心に、マウスにおけるNASH病態の治療改善効果について、PPARγ作用増強あるいはGlo1発現増強のどちらが鍵を握るのか、あるいは両方の作用増強が必須なのかを明らかにする。今や日本には200万人の患者がいると推定されているNASHに対する治療標的分子の解明を目指すだけでなく、新たな治療戦略を提供する社会的にも重要な研究である。
