Outline of Research at the Start

結核は世界人口の23％にあたる約17億人が感染し、年間160万人が死亡する深刻な健康問題の１つである。これらの結核感染者が結核を発症するまでは症状のない潜在性結核として結核発症の予備軍となる。しかし、潜在性結核感染者のうち、発症し活動性結核まで進展するのは全体の約10％弱であり、残りの90％がなぜ結核発症を免れるのかは未だ解明されていない。本研究では、抗体を用いた結核高発症リスク者の検出を目指すとともに、潜在性結核感染者の発症フォローアップ基盤を構築する。
