Outline of Research at the Start	炎症性疾患やがんなどの疾病に関与することが指摘されているアスパラギン結合型糖鎖の主要構造のひとつであるコアフコースの細胞内での合成反応の実際を理解することで、各種疾病の治療法の開発に寄与することを本研究の目的とする。コアフコース合成は、フコース転位反応とその反応を触媒するFUT8の活性型形成の２つの平衡反応に支配されている。”標準状態”でのこれらの平衡反応と正常細胞や疾病モデル細胞内でのコアフコース合成反応との乖離を評価することで、疾病時に２つの平衡反応に影響をおよぼす要因を明らかにしコアフコースを標的にした治療法や治療薬の開発基盤の構築を目指す。
