Outline of Research at the Start

環境中に放出されたプラスチックを起源とするマイクロプラスチックによる環境問題は近年急速に注目を集めている。本研究では、海洋におけるマイクロプラスチックの行方を明らかにすることを目標にし、ポリエチレンテレフタレート（PET）やポリエステルを構成するテレフタル酸をマーカーとして、海底堆積物、水中微粒子、大気粉塵、生物試料中に存在するPET/ポリエステルの現存量や移動量を明らかにする。その上で代表的な閉鎖性海域である瀬戸内海沿岸をモデル地域としたこれらの物質収支モデルの構築を行う。
