Outline of Research at the Start

環境保全に寄与する態度の育成に関わる理論的・実証的研究には未知の点が多く、個別の教育活動の意義は検証不能な状況である。
VBN理論は、利他的・生物圏重視（とくに後者）の価値志向の持ち主が環境配慮態度を示すとする枠組みを提供し、多くの検証で支持されている。環境と関係する価値づけ尺度には、感情的側面を反映する「保護対象」と費用便益評価に基づく「保全対象」が有効であるとされているが、両者の質的な違いから、価値づけに関わる体験や学習には差異が認められると予想する。それぞれの尺度と関わる重要な体験や学習を明らかにすることで、学習活動を検証改善するための手がかりを得ることができる。
