Outline of Research at the Start	2023年3月、国際熱帯木材機関（ITTO）とマレーシア・サラワク州政府は「サラワク州における保全と持続可能な開発のための先住民参加による森林管理」事業を開始すると発表した。対象地域はボルネオ島中央高地のバラム河上流域である。日本政府のほか、スイス・バーゼル市やNPOがITTOを通じて資金を拠出する。長年この地での森林伐採に反対してきた先住民たちの願いが届いた形である。では、いったいこの国際協力体制はどのように構築されたのだろうか。他方、関係するステークホルダー間で状況認識や協力行動にギャップは生じていないか。本研究を通じて、熱帯雨林保全の新たな国際協力モデルとしての可能性と課題を追究する。
