Outline of Research at the Start	本研究は、アフリカ熱帯地域に位置するカメルーン共和国東部州の定住した狩猟採集民であるバカ・ピグミーが居住する集落における、トイレの受容状況を伴う衛生観の把握と検証を射程としている。バカの人々にとって比較的新しい概念であるトイレを軸とした日常生活における衛生感覚に着目し、排泄や衛生に対する意識・規範・慣習等について整理・検討しながら、「地域に根ざした、より良い衛生基盤」の具体的な方策や課題、問題点を例示しつつ、将来的な理想モデルの提言に貢献する。
