Outline of Research at the Start	消費は市場及び国家という巨大で組織的な権力によって統御・調整されている。王族、国家や市場が、国民を積極的かつ組織的に統御・調整する湾岸アラブ諸国型資本主義では、ジェンダー政策と消費喚起とを一体型で管理・調整する生権力を見出すことができる。湾岸アラブ諸国が従来のレンティア国家型の統治（高福祉国家）から決別し、市場経済が導入される中で、消費・ジェンダー・統治のそれぞれの角度から「女性のエンパワーメント」のあり方を批判的に検討する。
