Outline of Research at the Start

近年、小脳活動の低下がうつ病症状と関連する事が示されている。本研究では、頭蓋骨上からの電流刺激によって非侵襲的に小脳を活動させて、うつモデル動物のうつ病様行動を軽減させる事を示す。これよりうつ病の新たな治療法の基盤となりうる技術が構築される。本研究の成果より、小脳を活性化させる運動や感覚刺激等を探索、開発し、さらに従来の治療法と併用し、うつ病を治療・予防する研究等に発展する効果があると思慮される。
