Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、明治期から昭和前期（19世紀末から20世紀前半）に西洋音楽の「理論」がどのように「受容」されてきたのかを歴史的に究明し、それらが教育・創作にいかにとりいれられてきたのかを具体的な事例に基づき検討するものである。
近代日本では、新しい音楽体系である西洋音楽が教育機関に導入されることになった。旧来とは異なる「音階」や「和声」という概念に初めて接した日本人は、理論的枠組みをどのように認識し昇華していったのか。本研究では、西洋音楽理論の受容史検証という第1課題と、日本における音楽理論の教育史考察という第2課題に取り組み、我が国における西洋音楽理論の受容史と教育・創作の実践例の一端を解明する。
