Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、17世紀初頭に制作されたフォンテーヌブロー宮殿の絵画装飾に光を当て、マリー・ド・メディシス（1575-1642）が、フランス王室における美術パトロンとしていかなる役割を果たしたかという問いを明らかにすることを趣旨とする。具体的な考察対象は、第二次フォンテーヌブロー派の画家アンブロワーズ・デュボワによる「ディアナのギャラリー」、「タンクレディとクロリンダの間」、「テアゲネスとカリクレイアの間」である。各連作における主題選択の検討や図像表現の分析から、作品群に込められた歴史的意味を解明することを試みる。
