Outline of Research at the Start	本研究は、1940年代から1970年代に日本各地で行われた寄生虫症対策を事例に、「人々の生がどのように成り立っていたのか」を問う医療社会史である。研究目的は、諸地域に暮らしていた人々の「生の成り立ち／生をめぐる営為」を比較分析して、各地域の「生」の固有性と、日本社会全体の「生」の共通性／時代性を明らかにすることである。寄生虫症対策は行政や専門家による一方的なものではなく、様々な利害や願望を抱いて生活していた住民の主体的関与、地域社会の論理や住民の日常生活に目を向ける必要がある。また、対策に従事した組織や住民の間にどのような相互作用や葛藤が生じたのかという動態的な視点も必要である。
