Outline of Research at the Start

東アフリカに広く分布するスワヒリ語は、均質な存在では決してなく、複数の言語からなる言語群として捉えられるほど多様な変種を内包している。本研究では、タンザニアのザンジバルに分布する変種に焦点をあて、沿岸スワヒリ語の分岐と混淆の歴史の一端を明らかにすることを目指す。人間の移動に伴い言語の伝播や変化が生じることを考えると、本研究は、東アフリカ沿岸地域の歴史研究にも新たな貢献をもたらすものであるといえる。
