Outline of Research at the Start	ロマンシュ語はスイスの公用語の一つである。1982年に各方言の共通要素を基に構築された「共通ロマンシュ語」が提唱され学校教育に導入されたが、方言話者からの反発の声が強く、近年教育現場の言語は各方言にほぼ置き換わった。似た状況にあるのがルーマニアのロマ（ジプシー）の言語「ロマニ語」である。ルーマニアには４つのロマニ語方言があるが、方言の共通要素から造られた「標準ロマニ語」が1992年から大きな反発もなく広く普及している。本研究では類似点の多いこの二つの少数言語の標準語の比較と検証を行い、何が普及と衰退を分けたのかを明らかにし、様々な少数言語保護のための未来の政策へとつなげる。
