Outline of Research at the Start	英語には、This article deserves reading. のように、動名詞の目的語位置に現れるはずの語句が主語に生起する構文がある。一方で、この存在がなぜ明示せずとも解釈されるのかは明らかになっていない。本研究の目的は、明示されなくても解釈される存在に着目して、その解釈を動機づける人間の認知的メカニズムを解明することにある。本研究は、実例から幅広く収集したデータを認知言語学的観点から分析することで、言語記述と言語理論の双方に貢献を与える。さらに、これまで切り離して考えられてきた様々な言語表現を、共通の原理で同一視座から捉え直せる包括的な理論モデルの提案が期待できる。
