Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、アメリカ合衆国の準州であったハワイで収容された、第二次大戦連合国軍管理下の戦争捕虜について、移送経路、収容中の処遇、本国への復員の過程などの項目を対象にイタリア人、日本人、沖縄人、朝鮮人との４つのエスニック・グループごとに分析・比較する。
また、戦後に戦争捕虜が語った体験に注目し、収集する収容体験の記録資料を抜粋した英訳資料「戦争捕虜の4つのエスニック・グループが見た戦時下ハワイ・資料サンプル集」を作成する。これをハワイ州オアフ島の収容所跡地に建設中のホノウリウリ国立史跡のリポジトリに寄贈する。イタリア、韓国、日本国内、沖縄県とハワイとを歴史の共有を介してトランスローカルに繋ぐ。
