Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、天保改革期以降の出版統制、メディア環境、学校教育（昌平黌・藩校等）の相互連関に着目して明治維新と書物の関係を総体として再検討することを目的とする。さらに、西欧由来の概念として扱われてきた「出版の自由」「言論の自由」といった現代でも依然として重要なテーマを、明清中国、近世・近代フランス等の諸経験と併せて比較検討してみたい。
