Outline of Research at the Start	本研究は、室町・戦国期における京都の都市構造の解明を目的としたものである。具体的には、検討素材を京都の職商人集団を指す「町衆」に据え、実証的な手法を用いて以下の3点のポイントを意識しつつ、研究を進めていく。 ①見直しが進んでいない京都経済史や商業史について、従来のイメージ重視ではなく実証的手法を用い、当時の商人の実態を解明すること ②京都の流通構造に関して、従来の京都経済史・都市史で全く扱われてこなかった、武士の経済活動に着目すること ③林屋辰三郎氏による「町衆」の概念創出の背景を明らかにし、これまで指摘されてこなかった史学史的な課題を顕在化させること
