Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、先住民の島内動員、「高砂特設警備部隊」の編成に着目し、植民地における先住民族の戦争、防衛戦略との関係を明らかにすることを目的とする。 そのための調査は日本国内、台湾、アメリカでの文献および史料の調査、台湾、先住民地区でのフィールドワーク調査を中心とする。さらに、日台共同での台湾関係『留守名簿』調査プロジェクトの立ち上げも予定している。本研究の対象は、「記憶」に残りづらい部隊であり、陸軍史料のほか、現地調査、そしてアメリカでの調査の必要性を感じている。
