Outline of Research at the Start	オランダ共和国（1581-1795年）は「寛容の楽園」ともされるが、カトリックへの差別は18世紀になっても合法化されたままであった。オランダのカトリックは宗教的に不平等な共存社会をどのように生き抜こうとしたのであろうか。本研究の鍵概念は、18世紀のオランダで大きく変化した、法的地位としての市民権と、帰属意識や価値規範としての市民性である。これまで別個に研究されてきた、宗派的柱状化、ユトレヒト教会分裂、反カトリック暴動といったテーマを、市民権・市民性という包括的視座から綜合して論じることで、本研究は、18世紀前半のオランダのカトリックが編み出した生存戦術を明らかにすることを目指す。
