Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、2013年以降のエジプト・アラブ共和国において、現地の人々が砂糖をどのように認識しているのかの全体像を、エジプト現地でのインタビューおよび新聞紙上の砂糖に関する言説・活動にもとづき明らかにする。分析に際しては「言説的伝統」（discursive tradition、人々の力関係や絶え間ない議論によってつねに変化し続ける伝統）概念を適用し、どのような思想・信条（イスラームや世俗主義など）の体系（すなわち伝統）が砂糖を主に意味づけているのか明らかにする。
