Outline of Research at the Start

日本では「自由主義の再検討」が何度もなされてきた。本研究計画では、その「再検討」の思想史を描くことで、それぞれの再検討の意義とオリジナリティを明らかにする。対象としては、リベラリズムの賛同者・反対者のどちらも視野に入れることの多い「個人主義」を鍵概念として取り扱う。方法としては、「出所（でどころ）」を基軸としたアプローチをとる。個人主義批判をする論者が、（特に西洋の）どの思想家の名前を引き合いに出し、その批判を遂行しているのかに注目するのである。「出所」は多くの国で共有されている可能性が高いため、この手法での研究は、他国との比較の土台となり、今後のグローバル思想史に貢献できるはずである。
