Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、政治的分極化かがどのような条件下て減少するのかについて明らかにすることを目標とする。近年、世界各国で権威主義化の加速が観察されている。とりわけ、政治的分極化は、近年の権威主義化・民主主義の後退を促進する主要因の一つとして認識される。しかしながら、どのような条件下で権威主義化の進む国における民主主義運動が、権威主義化の主なメカニズムである政治的分極化を緩和する効果を持つかについて、これまで体系的な研究は行われていない。本研究はこの未解決の問いを解明すべく、オンラインサーべイ、インタビュー、国際比較分析を組み合わせる混合手法を用いた実証分析を行う。
