Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、アフリカを舞台とする人種主義を批判的に解明する試みの一環として、人種隔離（アパルトヘイト）体制下の南アフリカに移入したアジア人に注目し、当地の人種秩序において彼らの位置がいかに構成されたのかを問う。主に光を当てるのは、1970～1980年代に南アフリカとの距離を縮めていた台湾からの移民である。これを通じて人種秩序と中間性に関する社会学的研究を継承・発展させるとともに、社会的寛容と共生のための研究に還元することを目指す。
