Outline of Research at the Start	塩分の過剰摂取は、高血圧症はもとより、脳卒中や心疾患などのリスクを高めるため、減塩は国民全体が取り組むべき課題である。しかし減塩の必要性を訴えても、これが必ずしも食塩摂取量の低下につながるとは言えない。そこで、個人ごとに最適化した塩分摂取指導を実現するためにも、血圧の違いが塩味の強さを認知するメカニズムにどのように影響するのか、口腔と脳における生理学的基盤を解明する必要があると考えた。本研究の目的は、先端的脳機能MRIを用いて、高血圧の人と正常血圧の人の塩味刺激による脳活動量および領域を比較検討し、脳における塩味認知の違いを解明することである。
