社会ではしばしば自集団の中に存在する異質な人々を排除しようとする風潮が強まり、それが暴動や紛争に繋がることもある。従来の研究はこうした現象の背後に資源不足の影響があることを示唆している。しかしそれらは資源不足時に人が異質な他者を排除したいという欲求を高めることを示すにとどまり、それが集団内葛藤や集団間紛争まで導くのか、導くならばどのようなメカニズムによるのかは未解明である。そこで本研究では、資源不足が集団内葛藤・集団間紛争を導くメカニズムを解明する。このメカニズムを解明し、それを基にした介入方法を検討することで、現実社会で生じている暴動・紛争を改善・予防する糸口が得られることが期待される。
