Outline of Research at the Start

発声や身体運動を交えたリズミカルで双方向的なコミュニケーション行動は、主にオウムなど発声学習能力を持つ種を用いてリズム同調能力の観点から研究がなされてきた。しかし、海鳥などの発声学習能力を持たない動物においても、求愛コミュニケーション中にリズム同調のような行動が観察される。本研究では、非発声学習種の行動のリズム同調がどのように維持され、機能しているのかを理解するため、野生アホウドリの求愛ダンスを解析する。彼らが繁殖期につがい間で行う求愛ダンスについて、リズム同調がつがい間の絆の維持に寄与するという予測のもと、１）動きおよびその同調性の定量化と、２）それら行動の背景にある社会要因の解明を目指す。
