Outline of Research at the Start

The aim of this project is to find so-far undetected particles, namely Q-balls and nuclearites. These particles are so heavy that they might produce thermal shock waves in ice. The light yield of the shocks will be investigated. The particles will be searched in the recorded data of IceCube.
