Outline of Research at the Start

I will develop new techniques to measure precise ages for young volcanic rocks. I will validate these methods with lava samples from Mount Chokai to enable the future application of these methods in Japan and worldwide, which will enhance our understanding of eruption timescales at active volcanoes.
