Outline of Research at the Start

Turbulent flows are common in nature and industrial applications. The objective of the present work is to shed light onto the difference and similarities among inertial and elastic, polymeric turbulence. Here, I will combine direct numerical simulations and data analysis of polymeric turbulence at high and low Reynolds number. I will investigate how energy is redistributed and transferred among scales, and extract the main flow structures governing the flow, with a combination of multiscale analysis and data-driven techniques.
