Excellent resistance to corrosion and outstanding mechanical properties in the weld metal of duplex stainless steel (DSS) is the continuous pursuit for the key and environmental applications. While the columnar primary ferrite brings out coarse weld microstructure and has deteriorated the above-mentioned performance. Primary ferrite nucleation by Oxide+TiN will be applied to balance the austenite content and refine the weld microstructure of DSS. Through this research to achieve high corrosion resistance and improved mechanical properties (toughness and tensile property) of DSS weld metal.
