Outline of Research at the Start	L-トリプトファン合成酵素β-サブユニット(TrpB)はL-トリプトファン(Trp)類縁体の酵素合成への応用が期待されている。これまでの酵素改変研究により、多様なL-Trp類縁体を合成可能な改変型TrpBが開発されてきたがその工業利用には至っていない。この原因としてTrpBは高温でのみ高い活性を示すこと、有機溶媒耐性が低いことが挙げられる。そこで本研究では、独自の酵素探索法で高機能TrpBを見出し、工業利用を妨げる先の課題解決を目指す。さらに高機能TrpBを応用利用することで、L-Trp類縁体を起点とした有用化合物の酵素合成を実現し、高機能TrpBが切り拓く新たな物質生産系の可能性を示す。
