Outline of Research at the Start

近年、双翅目に送粉される擬態花系において、送粉者の生活史特性に巧みに付け込んだ特異な擬態が報告されており、100余年に亘る擬態花の理解は変容の時機を迎えている。しかしながら、実証研究は数例に限られる。送粉に関わる双翅目の生活史の多様性を鑑みると、擬態花の「モデル」は現在知られるよりもずっと多様なのではないだろうか。
本研究では、アリのフェロモンに擬態して労働寄生性の送粉者を誘引するタチガシワの近縁種４種について、送粉様式を明らかにすることで、昆虫擬態花の新たな例を探索するとともに、アリ擬態花という特異な擬態様式の進化的背景に対する示唆を得る。
