Outline of Research at the Start

CD4+ T細胞の主な機能は様々な免疫応答の補助である。しかし、CD4+ T細胞の中には、本来の機能とは異なり、細胞傷害活性を示す細胞（cytotoxic CD4+ T細胞）も少数存在すると知られており、その分化誘導メカニズムや生体内における役割は未だ不明である。本研究では、cytotoxic CD4+ T細胞の詳細な分化誘導メカニズムの解明を目指し、さらに、老化個体内のcytotoxic CD4+ T細胞が老化した抗原提示細胞を除去することで適切な免疫応答能を維持している可能性を検討する。
