Outline of Research at the Start

BRAFV600E変異大腸癌は極めて予後不良であり、現行の治療薬では十分な効果が得られない難治性がんである。近年、特定のがん細胞の生存と治療抵抗性に関わるマクロピノサイトーシス(MP)が注目されている。MPは細胞外の栄養分を細胞内に取り込む栄養獲得機構である。BRAFV600E変異大腸癌は腫瘍サイズが大きく壊死を伴うことが多いため、このMP機構が癌の生存に大きく依存している可能性がある。本研究では、BRAF変異大腸癌におけるMPの働きと、がん細胞の生存と薬剤抵抗性メカニズムへの関与を解明することで、従来とは異なるアプローチ（がん栄養機構を標的とした）の独自の治療法を見出し、臨床へと繋げるための基盤を築く。
