Outline of Research at the Start

「SOX2増幅食道扁平上皮癌（esophageal squamous cell carcinoma：ESCC）に対して有効な新規の分子標的療法の同定」を目的とする。SOX2増幅ESCCはESCCの30％を占めているが、転写因子SOX2やその下流分子を治療標的とした薬物療法は開発されていない。SOX2遺伝子のノックアウトがSOX2増幅ESCC細胞の増殖を抑制し扁平上皮への分化を誘導する可能性を予備検討で見出している。本研究では、SOX2の阻害に代わる治療標的因子を同定し、SOX2増幅扁平上皮癌に対し分化誘導することにより細胞死を効率的に誘導し有効な抗腫瘍効果を示すか検討する。
