Outline of Research at the Start

飲酒と喫煙は食道癌発がんの最も重要なリスク因子である。体内にてエタノールはアセトアルデヒドに代謝され、アセトアルデヒドはDNA損傷をもたらす。そのDNA損傷の修復にはFanconi貧血経路が重要な役割を果たしている。一般的に、食道癌患者には単発で発症し再発しない患者もあれば、同時性異時性に多発する患者もみられる。応募者は、食道癌の易再発性は、アセトアルデヒドによるDNA損傷の蓄積と関連している可能性があるのではないかと発想した。本研究においては、アセトアルデヒドによるDNA付加体が食道癌易再発性の指標となる可能性を示すことを目的とする。
