Outline of Research at the Start

自殺は精神疾患の転帰として最も深刻な行動表現型であり適切な治療介入によって予防できる可能性があるため、精神科医にとって患者の自殺リスクを客観的に捉えることは最重要課題の一つだが、精神科領域では診断や重症度評価の客観的指標となるバイオマーカーに乏しく、複合的な要因で引き起こされる自殺も正確な予測が困難とされてきた。本研究は、「うつ状態から自殺完遂に至るという症状発展は連続的ではなく、自殺念慮から自殺行動の間に断続面があり、通常はこの断続面を超えないように何らかのチェックポイント制御が機能している」という仮説に基づき自殺行動のバイオマーカーの同定し、自殺の予防的介入の実現の礎となることを目指す。
