Outline of Research at the Start

申請者の以前の研究で、分泌因子の制御を担うタンパク質の抑制と放射線治療の併用が、がん治療効果を高めることが明らかとなった。さらにこのとき、併用治療によりがん悪液質が著明に緩和されることが示唆された。これらの結果から、分泌因子の阻害と放射線照射の併用が悪液質治療に有効であるという仮説に至った。本研究では、この仮説の検証とその分子メカニズムの解明を進める。本研究が進展すれば、原発がんの治療を行いながら、同時にがん悪液質の進行を抑制する新たな治療計画につながる知見を提供し、がん治療成績の向上に貢献すると考える。
